The Federal Cooperative College Ibadan, Oyo State has trained Women and Youth traders and artisans on Management techniques within the Oyo State Central Senatorial District. It was reported that In a bid to enhance sustainable development and growth in the country, Federal Cooperative college Ibadan has trained scores of artisans, traders, and others on modern management techniques and usage of Information Communication Technology.
Participants who are mainly from Ogo Oluwa local government area of the state were taken through rudiments of business management techniques and other related topics for one week at Opete community hall and later presented with certificates and financial support for their Business. The economic empowerment program which is one of the projects of Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, lawmaker representing Oyo Central Senatorial District at the upper chamber of the National Assembly was handled by Westan Michronik Communication Ltd

Speaking during the presentation of soft grants and certificates to the participants, Mr. Oyeleye Sunday, provost Federal Cooperative College, Eleyele Ibadan hinted that the training will not just help the participants in their business but also exposed them to the benefits of being a member of cooperative society. Also, the world is changing now and everybody in business must be ICT compliance, either to source for information, marketing of products or networking which was part of the course work for this training and they have mastered it.
While congratulating the participants, Oyeleye who was accompanied by the school registrar Dr. Mrs. Victoria Ademilua however urged the participants to make judicious use of the opportunity and use the knowledge they have acquired to positively impact Society.
In his remark, Senator Teslim Folarin said he facilitated the training for his constituents because he considers it as a form of empowerment, job, and wealth-creating opportunities which he believes would help them in life. The All Progressive Congress APC chieftain however urges the beneficiaries to make use of the knowledge which they have acquired during the training and also to be an advocate of positive development by exposing people around them to how to do things better.
Some of the participants including Ogunwole Matthew from Ayede community said “It is a thing of joy that I am among the people that were trained and empowered by Senator Teslim Folarin and through this program, I have learned a lot about cooperation and having the saving culture and also the benefits of having a business enterprise and I commend him for bringing the program. After the lecture, the Senator offered financial assistant to us to start up a profitable enterprise.
Also, Oyeleke Aderonke Itunu from Ayetoro community in Ogo Oluwa local government said “we are very happy that Senator Teslim Folarin gave us this opportunity to learn about cooperative and saving culture. We shall apply everything that will learn during the training because it is useful for us now and in the future. We have gathered ourselves to start a cooperative society and also we shall use the financial incentives to tackle unemployment by starting a business venture.
