IBADAN – Some beneficiaries of the just concluded one-week training on Elementary Management Techniques for Cooperators, sole traders, and partners in Oyo state have commended Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin and the Management of Federal Cooperative College Ibadan for Initiating such life-changing opportunities.
Some of the participants described the opportunity as a life-saving program that is needed at periodic intervals to empower young school leavers, job seekers, and better the larger society.
Speaking with journalists in Ibadan on Tuesday, one of the participants, Oladiti Taofeek Abolaji a graduate and job seeker said, “Though I am managing a little business, with this training, everything will change, because the opportunity to be here has not just boosted my morale but has also opened my eyes to so many things which will help in sustaining my businesses and I will forever be grateful to the distinguished Senator Folarin and Federal Cooperative College for the genuine interest in helping the society.”
Another participant, Asimiyu Anisere livestock farmer who specializes in piggery said, “I have been in this business for more than 20 years and I have been doing it in my local way but during the training, I have learned so many things which I will apply and I’m optimistic that it will improve yields and productivity.”
During the training, the participants have grouped themselves into a cooperative society and promise to register and sustain it.
Provost Federal Cooperative College, Eleyele Ibadan, Mr. Oyeleye Stephen while presenting certificates to the participants said they should count themselves lucky to be part of the training and thank Senator Folarin for his genuine passion and interest in the economic advancement of his constituents.
He implored the beneficiaries to apply the knowledge they have acquired so far in their businesses and teach others so as to have a better society. “With this training, you are good to start and flourish in your businesses, once again I want to congratulate and wish you all the best in life.”

Senator Folarin, the All Progressive Congress APC lawmaker in his address said’ He facilitated the training on economic empowerment to boost create a job, wealth as well as reduces the numbers of unemployed people in the state, Government cannot provide Job for all job seekers but with this training and empowerment, our people can be engaged and meet up with their financial demands and I can assure you more support will come if you utilize this opportunity effectively.
“Everybody irrespective of your age and status should be ICT compliance, and its part of the training package so make use of the knowledge brand and repackage your product and make use of social media to engage in aggressive marketing of your product.”
The training which was facilitated by Senator Folarin, a lawmaker representing Oyo Central Senatorial districts had participants drawn from communities Oluyole and Ona ara local government area of the state
Representative of Easystone Projects and Service Ltd, the company who handled the training said apart from the intensive lecture on marketing, branding, packaging of products and services and others participants were also registered for NHIS and giving start-up funds to add to their businesses.
